Avoid Professor Mikhail Vishik

While he is a brilliant mathematician, Professor Mikhail Vishik is not the professor you want.

Your grade will come from 10 problems, and he will only follow the textbook for the beginning and end of the course. His lectures are heavily tied up in notation and concepts from vector calculus and linear algebra, things you may note you won't have taken before getting into this class.

The tests aren't super difficult, but when each problem is 10% of your grade, you can't be sure your grade will accurately reflect the work you put in.
